Political participation and life course transitions among young people in Europe

The subject of this article is the analysis relationship between life course young people and political participation in Europe. Results show that people?s transitions education, work, family European countries are directly associated with institutional non-institutional forms participation. Entering new roles obtaining or losing resources (financial, social, time) a more less stimulating context for involvement field. shows our first hypothesis proved to be correct. Both positively study expe?rience, indicator most consistent predictor both Young who go through higher education better understand socio-political con?text have knowledge how they can influence social processes. transition labour market also positive associations participation, but only certain practices, so partially work vote often, active within parties, contact representatives, NGOs. Work provides financial capital, as well acquisition skills competencies important engagement.
